NewsFire 1.4 (v64) Beta

The third beta of NewsFire 1.4 (v64) is now available for testing.

This release incorporates a number of small changes, as we are nearing the end of the beta period:
– type-ahead selection has been implemented in the feed list.
– the read/unread status of an item can be modified via context menu when viewing the item itself.
– feed discovery commands are now routed through the add feed pane’s autodiscovery mechanism, instead of via a separate UI.
– the unregistered mode of the application has been modified, exchanging frequent nags for a prominent space-wasting banner and a more rigourously enforced feed limit.

Thank you! I just keeps getting better!

any chance of a full screen option with the video downloads?

Hello,

The audio playback has changed (since version 62 I think).
It doesn’t automatically read the next podcast in the list, when it finishes reading a file, and doesn’t mark audio podcasts as read. Is the new video playback mode a reason for this ?

Yes, that’s intentional.

I love the app. I’ve been trying out the unregistered version of the NewsFire and I gotta say that you have perfected the art of design. I love the minimalist approach. I’m thinking about switching from NetNewsWire. If I register a copy, how long will I get updates? do I get access to updates forever? or just until the next 1.x update? the reason I ask is because I noticed that you do a really good job of cranking out update pretty often. Thanks, love the app.

1.x upgrades are generally complimentary.

So I’m a new user of NewsFire and I see there is an setting called:

View > Show Hidden Feeds

How does this work? I don’t see any settings to mark a feed as hidden or not.
